Vilakazi Reflects on Galaxy-Sundowns Clash
Newly-acquired TS Galaxy player, Sibusiso Vilakazi, is feeling a little disconcerted ahead of their DStv Premiership match against his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns.
Last Saturday, 6 August, Galaxy started off their campaign with a goalless draw against AmaZulu FC. The day before, Sundowns walked away with a 2-0 victory over Cape Town City FC.
Now, both outfits are set to face off tonight, Wednesday 10 August, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria – and Vilakazi, who joined the Rockets in July after a six-year stint with the Brazilians, appears to be a bit nervous.
“I, myself, don’t know how we’re going to go about that one because guys have struggled,” he said in a recent interview. “I was in those shoes also, so now I find myself planning for that; it’s interesting.”
Although he hopes to stay “pretty disciplined and fully concentrated” while facing his old team, Vilakazi ruefully added: “It’s a very complicated team, as we’ve seen. You can go with them [toe-to-toe] until half-time … so you see that goals are around each and every situation they encounter. So, it’s a headache.”
Will Galaxy reign supreme, or will Sundowns sink them? Guess we’ll have to find out tonight!
